THIS IS THE ISRAELI RESPONSE TO THE ARAB INITIATIVE FOR PEACE
The Middle East witnesses a grave deterioration .. Hopes are scattered in applying international law and human rights mechanisms in the occupied territories of Palestine. The ethnic practices of the Zionist state put us in a deep impasse maybe forcing us to reconsider many issues. The Israeli forces surpassed all levels. This reveals the fact of civil society weakness as well as human rights organizations of course fell in the heart of events and reluctance of the international community, that they rely on fragile mechanisms incompetent to affect on the criminal actions committed by the Israeli forces. Such actions back us to the barbaric laws. This reluctance indicates that tyrannical power is stronger than any human right instruments as well as the UN agencies. Notwithstanding the security council has adopted a resolution calling Israel for withdrawal from national authority of Palestine - controlled territories, UN have no means of implementing such resolution likewise scores of its former resolutions. The US secretary of state, Colin Powell emerged parroting the same discourse and the American stance absolutely biased to Israel and supporting the Israeli ethnic practices. The secretary puts blame on Chairman Arafat for suicidal operations that in fact are reactions to the troubled situation and lack of alternative before unarmed people subjected daily to execution and injustice by the extremist government headed by Sharon whose record is full of human rights violations. This general may swamp the region into vicious circle of violence and chaos. The ongoing operations in Palestine enforce us to pose a vocal question: Do such mechanisms of various names as UN, security council, international human right instruments and conventions and peace treaties still have credibility? Furthermore, do they stand in the face of the flagrant violations of human rights of unarmed people? Israel uses ambulances to attack the Palestinian civilians and physical liquidation of several civilians. It executed five - guards of chairman Arafat, without legal trial. Also, Israelis has beaten some media men and abandoned all international laws concerning respect to journalists. In this regard, the current Israeli actions do kill any rational voice. Thus, it is the severest attack since Intifada break out on September, 2000. This military escalation is a serious threat to the remaining authority of chairman Arfat. Ironically, Arafat is blamed to not move to stop Intifada while he is jailed in his office by tanks of Sharon. This situation forced many young people to self-sacrifice in order to liberate their territories and lifting humility and injustice their people suffer. Association for Human Rights Legal Aid (AHRLA) calls the international community for implementing international and human rights instruments. AHRLA confirms that any complicity with the extremist government of Sharon will be considered a real advocate to terrorism which US assert launching a war on it while it try to dispossess the Palestinians their legitimate right to resistance and freeing their territories. The UN is called for applying the seventh chapter of the UN Charter as applied in Belgrade. Also UN has to impose economic sanctions. AHRLA calls all international organizations operating in the field of human rights to launch a campaign for trying Sharon before international tribunal for his war crimes as Slubodan Melisovitsch. All such organizations are requested to bear pressures on its governments to work for stopping massacres against Palestinians and halting the flagrant violations of the Palestinians' rights. AHRLA, in the same time, demands all Arab leaders to insure their people freedoms of assembly, protest and mobilizing material and moral support to the legitimate Palestinian resistance. |
