Supporting the conclusions and recommendations brought by the Committee against torture, AHRLA calling the law enforcement officials for halting the practices of torture in the detention places and the state to allocate separate places for the delinquent juveniles.

Association for Human Rights Legal Aid welcomes and supports the conclusions and recommendations made by the Committee Against Torture, included in response to the 4th periodic report of Egypt.
Ensuring its keen interest and aims to stop the practices of torture, particularly after it has spreading widely all over Egypt. AHRLA prompts the executive bodies in the Egyptian government to take the proper steps to stop the phenomenon of torture. In this regard, it is worthy noting that AHRLA has indicated before, during the campaign it launched from August, 15 through January, 15, 2002, that the police has recently changed its motto from "Police in the service of People" to be "Police and People in the service of Nation". The order that mean the change in the direction of the executive body to be more authoritarian so that it makes itself equal to the sovereignty of people.
The Association for Human Rights Legal Aid assured several times what was brought in the convention against torture that "It should be recognized that torture is a crime against humanity, which must be combated. It is a shameful violation of human dignity, which spreads insecurity among citizens. Without a systematic confrontation of torture, whatever its motives and justifications, and regardless of the identity of both victim and culprit, these crimes will continue to threaten the very existence of our society".
The Association has transated the conclusions and recommendations into Arabic and dissemniates it on public through the fax and e.amil for the Egyptian and Arabic NGOs in order to collect the opinions and support from the various organizations and individuals as well as to let the citzens to pariticipate actively to the existent front against torture in Egypt.
